Fundraising Coffee Morning

The Coffee Morning will take place on Friday 17th May 2019 from 9.30am – 3.30pm at SportsAble, Braywick Park, Braywick Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1BN

Come and join us for coffee, cake and conversation or join in one of the FREE activities/workshops that are taking place on the day.   

For all activities and workshops please arrive 15 minutes beforehand.  On arrival make your way to the registration tent by the Braywick all-weather pitch (next to SportsAble), where the team will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Discovery with Three will be on hand throughout the day to answer your queries on APPs for your tablets or mobile devices.  Just pop down, grab a coffee and have a chat with the representatives.  Discovery with Three will also be running FREE workshops.  The workshops can take a maximum of 15 people, booking is recommended and can be done via:  helen@maidenheadunitedfc.org or by calling the sports development team on: 01628 685839.  Further information on each of the workshops scheduled can be found below:

Facebook (09:30 – 11:00)
It’s difficult to remember the World without Facebook. Our course will help you get started. We’ll take you through the basics and much more. You’ll end up meeting old friends while making new ones. Please bring your phone/tablet with you.

WhatsApp (11:30 – 12:30)
WhatsApp is a mobile messaging service that’s a lot like text messaging, though it’s done online rather than through your phone provider. We help you get started and ready to chat. And answer any questions you might have.  Please bring your phone with you.

Phone Basics (13:30 – 14:30)
This session will take you through the very basics of making calls, sending texts, plus a whole lot more with your Smart Phone. Bring your phone and we'll get you up and running.

 

MAIDENHEAD CYCLE HUB have organised a led ride which is suitable for a wide range of cyclists.  The led ride is a great opportunity to get out and meet new people as well as trying out one of the great routes which is right on our doorstep.  The ride will leave SportsAble at 11:00am and will last approximately 90 minutes.  It is recommended that you book on to the ride.  If you have any queries, or to book a place please contact:  helen@maidenheadunitedfc.org or call the sports development team on: 01628 685839.  We will ask the ride leader to contact you prior to the day to confirm what you need to bring/wear and answer any other queries you may have.

 

SMILE have two sessions scheduled as below:

Led Walk - the walk will leave from Braywick at 10.00am and will take place in and around the surrounding area returning to SportsAble at approximately 11.00am.  The walk is a moderate paced walk where exercise and conversation are the focus.   Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor walking. 

Exercise Class - the SMILE exercise class is for anyone over the age of 50.  Sessions are a mixture of aerobics and strengthening exercises.  The sessions are a great way to meet new people as well as improving your health and fitness.  Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for indoor exercise.

Join the RAMBLERS for a 5½ mile walk, which will take you down to Maidenhead Bridge and over the Thames, along the Thames path, passing the Brunel Bridge and Bray Lock towards Bray Church before heading back to Braywick Park for a tea/coffee.  Ramblers are an inclusive, friendly walking group for people of all ages.  They provide opportunities to meet new friends and keep fit.  Please wear clothing suitable for outdoor walking.  For further information on Ramblers please visit their website:  https://www.eastberksramblers.org/

 

WALKING NETBALL is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. The game has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level.  Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for exercise, it is also recommended to bring a drink.

 

WALKING FOOTBALL is a slower paced version of the sport aimed at over 50's regardless of health and abilities.  The game has grown in recent years and has been a great way of attracting many people back into football due to its health and fitness benefits as well as proving a fun and safe environment for all.  Magpies in the Community run sessions every Tuesday on the Braywick Astro Turf pitch from 13.30pm - 14.30pm come rain or shine.  New players of all ages and abilities are always welcome!  A new session on the Astro Turf pitch at Windsor Leisure Centre has recently started and they meet on Mondays from 11am – 12pm.  If you would like further information on either of these sessions please contact: community@maidenheadunitedfc.org

 

THAMES VALLEY POLICE will be available throughout the day to talk about how modern fraud works, what you can do to guard against it and how to report it.  Come along, grab a tea/coffee and talk to the representatives from Thames Valley Police on how to keep yourself safe.
